We are so excited to announce that we will be returning to the Jo Ann Magistro Performing Arts Center.  Hammarskjold Middle School.  200 Rues Lane.  East Brunswick, NJOur shows will take place on Wednesday 6/26/24, Thursday 6/27/24 & Friday 6/28/24.

The following newsletter contains all the information you need.

You will receive a hard copy of this packet with your final invoice for the year. It will include May & June tuition, $30.00 recital media fee, a picture & ticket envelope, costume accessory list & a tentative 2024-25 class schedule.  Picture envelopes can be handed in immediately (Due by 5/11/24) & we will start accepting ticket envelopes Sunday 5/19/24 at 9am at the studio.

*      Saturday 6/1/24...Final day for ticket envelopes.

*      Monday 6/3/24... Open Registration for NEW students (Studio 4:00PM)

*      Saturday 6/15/24...Last day of classes.

*      Monday 6/17/24 & Wednesday 6/19/24 …Dress rehearsals.

1.  END OF YEAR REGISTRATION – To guarantee your child placement in the class of their choice for September’s enrollment, please take advantage of our end of year registration. (OPEN FOR STAR STRUCK STUDENTS ONLY).  We will begin accepting registration on Monday 5/6/24 at 4:00pm.  There are no registration fees, however, your tuition through June must be paid & September’s tuition is due at this time & is NON-REFUNDABLE.  Open Registration for new students will begin Monday 6/3/24 at 4:00pm & continue throughout the summer.

2.  TICKET SALESCASH ONLY.  You will receive a recital ticket envelope.  Ticket Sales will take place Sunday 5/19/24 at 9:00am for families that are paid in full for the year.  Tickets will be pulled FIRST COME FIRST SERVE.  We will not accept your envelope on ticket day (5/19/24) if you have an outstanding balance.  Tickets are limited to 8 per family.  If you need more, we will do our best to accommodate you. You cannot hand in more than 3 family envelopes including your own.  All ticket envelopes must be handed in by Saturday 6/3/23.  Tickets are $30.00 each.   Tickets can be picked up at dress rehearsal.  A parent must pick them up.  We will not be responsible for tickets given to students.

3.  SUMMER DANCE PROGRAM – We will be offering an ACRO / HIP HOP camp on Mondays in August 8/5, 8/12, 8/19 & 8/26.  The cost is $125.00 per student.  We will also offer a “toddler time” class for 2 & 3 year old students for $100.00.  Payment is due upon registration and is now being accepted.  Space is limited therefore it will be first come first serve.  All students registering for the combo class must be entering PreK-4 in September.  The age divisions are based upon the student’s grade September 2024.  The schedule is as follows:  11:15-12:00…Toddler Time (2/3 year olds) / 11:15-12:45…Acro / HH (PreK - 4)  12:00-1:30…Acro / HH (Kindergarten - 1st grade)  /  12:45-2:15…Acro / HH (2nd - 5th  grade)

  4.  DANCE PICTURES – Gary Gregory Entertainment Group will be taking dance portraits at Star Struck on Tuesday 5/14/24 & Wednesday 5/15/24.  Parents WILL NOT be permitted in the studio.  All dancers must arrive camera ready in full costume.  If they are taking multiple photos in different costumes, my staff will assist in changing them.  We will be offering a $65.00 package which consists of 4 digital pictures edited (3 full body & 1 headshot) in 1 costume. You will receive a link to your email with your pictures when they are ready.   If you would like to take pictures in multiple costumes you must fill out an envelope for each class.  We will NOT be taking group pictures.  PICTURES ARE CASH ONLY.  The schedule is as follows:

5.  DRESS REHEARSAL – Rehearsal for the recital will take place on Monday 6/17/24 & Wednesday 6/19/24 at the Jo Ann Magistro Performing Arts Center.  Children must arrive at their scheduled time in BLACK dancewear with all shoes.  NO COSTUMES.  The schedule is as follows:

7. DRESSING ROOMS – Parents will not be permitted in the dressing rooms. The SSDS staff will be with the children at

all times to assist them in changing.

 

PLEASE NOTE...THE FOLLOWING CLASSES ARE CONSIDERED “BABY” CLASSES:

Tuesday 2:45 - Thursday 3:30 - Saturday 11:30

Baby classes will be performing BOTH their numbers in the first act. You must bring your child to the dressing

room at the beginning of the show with both pairs of dance shoes labeled with their name. A teacher will be with

them at all times. After they perform, you can take them into the audience to watch the remainder of the show.

They will receive a trophy before they leave. THEY DO NOT NEED A TICKET TO SIT ON YOUR LAP.

 

IMPORTANT REMINDERS

 

*Videotaping is strictly prohibited.

*Professional video links will be available for all families.  $30/media fee per family will be added to your invoice.

*Children must arrive ½ hour before show time in full costume with all their dance shoes labeled with their name.  

Parents are to drop children off to the dressing room upon their arrival.  Children will be supervised by the Staff.

*Children will be released directly off the stage at the end of the recital one class at a time (with the exception of “Baby” classes).  We will clear out the audience & ask that one parent per child remains to safely escort their child off the stage.

*All children must remain in the dressing rooms the entire show.  At no time will performers be permitted to leave the dressing rooms.  Video monitors will be live streaming the show for them to view while waiting to perform.

*All students (with the exception of the “Baby” classes) will take part in the finale & at this time will receive their trophy then be released to their parents.   Estimated show time…2 hours!
