Welcome to Star Struck Dance Studio, home of the 2011 Starpower National Champions. “4 Cups & 3 Grands!’ Star Struck was established in 1990 by Gail Willadsen-Criscione, former Miss Staten Island 1989, and is ready to kick off its “22nd” season. Star Struck has built an incredible reputation being recognized as one of the top companies in the nation. Known for our explosive energy and versatility, Star Struck focuses on teaching not only the technical aspect of dance but the true passion for performing. We offer a well rounded program for all levels of dance with classes in JAZZ, TAP, BALLET, LYRICAL, CONTEMPORARY, MODERN, HIP HOP, BREAK DANCING and ACROBATICS for boys and girls ages 2 thru adult. We also have a “Mommy & Me” program for toddlers. Our season begins in September and our end of year recital is held in the Concert Hall at the College of Staten Island in June. With an enrollment of 800+ students, our professional and personable staff will make your dance training experience a fun and memorable one. All of our staff were trained right here at Star Struck. Miss Jackie spent 4 seasons dancing with the New Jersey Nets & Miss Maria is starting her 2nd year with the team. Miss Alyssa is also part of the NBA organization tumbling on Team Hype. Miss Jenny danced with the New York Knicks City Dancers & was our reigning Miss Staten Island 2010. Mr. Jeoffrey, former Miss New York 2010, heads our ballet program & is currently signed with McDonald Selzick Associates Talent Agency. Our award winning Dance Company is made up of 130 students ages 4 thru 19 that compete across the Nation winning countless medals and High Scores. (Company members are chosen at the discretion of Miss Gail and her staff). We have captured the National title on both the East and West Coast. Miss Gail and her instructors are the proud recipients of Choreography Awards for their outstanding work. This year the Company competed at many local regionals & Starpowers Nationals in Ocean City, Md bringing home another Victory Cup & Grand Line Championship. They also won the Entertainment & Showmanship award for the week, while they proudly represented in 12 categories at the Battle of the Stars. They spent the summer training with guest teachers from around the country; Sam Renzetti, Sky Hoffman, Carrie Locklyn, Marinda Davis & Nick Bass. The “SSDS” Company is not only a dynamic team, but more importantly a beautiful family.
Many of our students have gone on to pursue professional dance and teaching careers.
